I made a previous blog & video about MagMod's Basic Kit, which is basically their "starter pack" to help get you started using their flash modifier system. If you'd like to learn more about how MagMod works and learn about their starter kit before learning about the MagBeam, you can read and watch by clicking here.

The MagMod MagBeam Kit Includes:

  • MagBeam - multitasking zoom modifier made of silicone

  • Tele Lens - lens designed to increase flash power by 2-3 stops & also works as a zoom Hollywood-style spotlight, it has three different zoom settings to create various sized spotlights with defined edges

  • Wide Lens - lens designed to be used with MagMasks to project various patterns of light

  • MagMask Standard Set - sheets of metal with specific shapes cut out, these are made to be used with the Wide Lens & the MagBeam

  • Carrying Pouch - cloth bag to help keep everything together

***The MagGrip is NOT included in the MagBeam Kit, but it is necessary to use the products in this kit. Learn more about the MagGriphere.

In the video below I go through each piece inside the MagBeam Kit, describing what they are, how they work, as well as demonstrate how to install and attach these modifiers. Towards the end of the video, I give an example as to how you can use these modifiers together to create unique photographs. I break down a self-portrait and describe how I achieved the lighting by using the modifiers in the kit.

Watch this video on my YouTube Channel to learn about this unique flash modifier system!

Here’s an example of images created with the MagBeam system:
